Academy9 is thrilled to announce the launch of our annual <strong>Sustainable Solutions Challenge<\/strong> \u2013 a dynamic STEM competition. This exciting 10-week programme offers young minds the opportunity to dive into the world of sustainable engineering and make a real impact on their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-6d57e033-4f5f-4cea-baa2-8e44665621fe\"><strong>What is the Sustainable Solutions Challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a74f3d20-d805-4cbf-b664-99df02e6b079\">The Sustainable Solutions Challenge is more than just a competition; it\u2019s a journey of discovery and innovation. Over the course of 10 weeks, pupils will work in teams of up to six members to design and build a sustainable road. This hands-on project will not only enhance their understanding of STEM concepts but also foster teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a74f3d20-d805-4cbf-b664-99df02e6b079\">Academy9 are also delighted to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.balfourbeatty.com\/\">Balfour Beatty<\/a> sponsoring the challenge for the second year running!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-1c9089f5-4442-4e9a-b667-54ef89c24d7f\"><strong>Who is it for?<\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong>P6, P7, S1, S2 and S3 pupils, either in class or in after-school clubs&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-022773f7-f75f-4920-818b-55e14e9fb072\"><strong>When?\u202f <\/strong>19th January to 27th March 2026 for a maximum of 10 hours, flexible based on your timetable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-ec2f7372-1474-42d6-bd1e-e0f43319528a\"><strong>Professional Mentorship<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-38c1bee8-0bb1-410d-b95d-8338b7d7dca7\">One of the unique aspects of this challenge is the support from professional mentors. Each team will be paired with an experienced mentor who will guide them through the project, offering insights, advice, and encouragement. This mentorship is invaluable, providing pupils with a glimpse into real-world engineering and sustainability practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-38167c23-6ff5-420f-8c88-e48b23660dc0\"><strong>The Journey to the Final<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-3d395385-40db-4c31-8965-976ecb1a7aeb\">After weeks of hard work and collaboration, the most innovative and effective projects will be shortlisted for our 2026 Sustainable Solutions Final.
