Festival of the Sea has a writing competition open to all ages, including school children and adults! The theme is &#8220;What will future archaeologists say about our time?&#8221;\u00a0 Primary 1-4 are asked to write a poem, Primary 5-S2 the lyric of a song, S3-S6 and adults to write a short story on the theme of around 1,000 words. <\/span><\/i><\/h5>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><i><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\"><strong>Closing Date Friday 18th May.<\/strong><\/span><\/i><\/h4>\n<p><i><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u00a0Prizes include:<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a390 in Calmac vouchers!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Historic Environment Scotland family membership!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a330 voucher for Sealife Adventures Oban!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Books from Kilmartin House Museum!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Viking necklaces!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri\">There will be readings and adjudications at the Festival itself which will be held on Saturday and Sunday 26\/27th May at the Ocean Explorer Centre 11.30 &#8211; 16.30. Our family-friendly event will explore the impact of 21st century living on the marine environment and what this may mean for future human generations. Oban scientists will share the latest insights into human impacts on the marine ecosystem, locals and artists will exhibit their creative responses and entrepreneurs showcase latest technological solutions.
