This includes secondary, primary and early learning and childcare practitioners, college and university staff, CLD and STEM partner organisations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scotland\u2019s economy is transforming rapidly in the coming years and there is an increasing and urgent demand for a skilled workforce to enable this transition to take place. Research shows that educators have a pivotal role to play in equipping learners with the skills for learning, life and work and promoting relevant pathways to learners, parents and carers. This professional learning event has been designed for Scotland\u2019s educators to help them excite and inspire our children and young people about their future career opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you know?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is an estimated \u00a390 billion of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.skillsdevelopmentscotland.co.uk\/media\/el4fhf0m\/cesap-pathfinder-wp1-executive-summary.pdf?_gl=1*1tk1zqt*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTg1NjI0MDE3MC4xNzAzMTU1MTMw*_ga_2CRJE0HKFQ*MTcwMzE1NTEyNy4xLjAuMTcwMzE1NTEyNy4wLjAuMA..\">Green investments in Scotland<\/a> taking place in the next 2-3 years as Scotland transitions to net zero and the UK Government target is to create 2 million green jobs by 2030.<\/li>\n<li>Glasgow produces the highest number of small satellites anywhere in Europe and the space sector workforce is expected to increase fivefold by 2030. There are five <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deliveringforscotland.gov.uk\/levelling-up\/spaceports\/\">spaceports<\/a> planned in Scotland.<\/li>\n<li>About 1.7 million people are employed within UK engineering, with 265,000 people needed to enter the UK\u2019s engineering workforce annually to meet demand.<\/li>\n<li>Two significant new centres of excellence have just opened in Scotland including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmis.scot\/\">National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland<\/a> (For Advanced Manufacturing) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/thenationalrobotarium.com\/\">National Robotarium<\/a> (for Robotics).<\/li>\n<li>Manufacturing in Scotland accounts for more than 178,000 jobs in Scotland.<\/li>\n<li>STEM related industries accounted for 30.7% of all employment in Scotland in 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What to expect from the event<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join us to explore the boundless opportunities within the dynamic engineering and manufacturing sectors in Scotland.
