STEM learning.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>FREE <em>\u2018STEM In a BOX\u2019 Activities for P7 and S1<\/em><\/u><\/strong><u>:<\/u> Classroom-based, small group, problem-solving tasks, encouraging pupils to apply their skills in a real-life, practical context whilst developing knowledge and understanding of the \u2018Engineering Design Process\u2019.<\/li>\n<li><em>Remote delivery with \u2018live\u2019 introduction and feedback sessions on TEAMS<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>ALL <\/em><\/strong><em>\u2018live\u2019 sessions take place on <strong>Thursdays <\/strong>throughout term time<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><em>All materials provided, free of charge, for classroom use<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Activities include \u2018Bridge Building\u2019, \u2018Towers\u2019 and \u2018Boats\u2019<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>FREE <em>\u2018STEM Workshops\u2019 S2 and S3:<\/em> <\/u><\/strong>Collaborative, practical projects, delivered on campus, involving greater use of STEM skills and knowledge, and leading to a deeper understanding of engineering processes.<\/li>\n<li><em>On campus visit with morning and afternoon STEM sessions<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Available on selected dates only, pre-booking required<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Activities include \u2018Water Wheels\u2019, \u2018Wind Turbines\u2019 and \u2018Hot Air Balloons\u2019<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Host venue for \u2018FIRST LEGO LEAGUE\u2019 CHALLENGE Tournament:<\/u><\/strong> a highly engaging, \u2018hands-on\u2019 STEM experience, combining the engineering challenge of a robotics competition with real-world problem solving.<\/li>\n<li><em>Suitable for ages 9 to 16years<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Participation helps to build confidence with coding, and teaches valuable employment and life skills in a meaningful, engaging context<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>\u2018Challenge Tournament\u2019 event held at Edinburgh College in March 2024 \u2013 date to be confirmed. <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>All further details, including information about funding and registration can be found (theiet.org)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>School visits to support Science\/STEM week events: <\/u><\/strong><strong>*SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY* <\/strong>pre-arranged school visits from members of the Engineering department to run STEM challenges and practical tasks as part of a school \u2018Science week\u2019 or similar themed event.<\/li>\n<li><em>In school, STEM visit for P6\/P7 pupils to coincide with school \u2018Science\u2019 week<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Hands-on, practical challenges with face-to-face instruction<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>All tools\/resources and instruction provided, <strong>FREE of charge<\/strong>.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>STEM INSPIRATION PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>What is the value in STEM-learning activities?\u00a0 Participation helps to:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Raise attainment in all areas of the curriculum through practical application of key concepts in maths and
