Those from remote areas are significantly more likely to go straight into employment after school than students from other parts of Scotland. In terms of attainment statistics, these show fewer than 60% of leavers from small towns have at least one qualification at level six, once again the lowest of all six categories<\/em>.\u201d McEnaney, J 2021, p.86,\u00a0<em>Class rules The truth about Scottish schools,\u00a0<\/em>Luath press limited, Edinburgh.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this particular study is to explore any\u00a0structural issues in\u00a0<strong>urban and rural secondary schools in Scotland<\/strong>,\u00a0which\u00a0may\u00a0impact on the educational outcomes of\u00a0<strong>practical chemistry teaching<\/strong>. In addition to making these results public, it is hoped to implement recommendations based on the voice of the participants that will support both<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>teachers and\u00a0Heads of Science\/Chemistry<strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0and, in turn, enhance the learning for all pupils in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>First-hand knowledge and original insights from both <strong>Teachers<\/strong> and from\u00a0<strong>Heads of Science\/Chemistry\u00a0<\/strong>in Scottish secondary schools will inform the research recommendations.
