Tuesday 2nd November 6:00pm – 7:00pm Just launched\u00a0 \u2013 a new live lesson for learners P7-S4.<\/p>\n The free event \u2018Use Data Science to reduce your school\u2019s carbon footprint\u2019 is on 9 Nov and aligns with COP26. Each live lesson focuses on a data science topic and brings together a YouTube livestream event with a series of guided web-based activities.\u00a0 The first live lesson, \u2018Defend the Rhino\u2019, focused on machine learning (training cameras to spot poachers and save rhinos!).\u00a0 The second \u2018Data Selfie\u2019 live lesson supports learners to explore data visualisation.<\/p>\n Access both lessons from the events page in the Data Education in Schools website: Events for data education \u2013 Data Education in Schools (dataschools.education)<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n STEM Online Resource<\/strong><\/p>\n Spotlight on Professional Learning<\/strong><\/p>\n As practitioners we need to keep up to date with what is happening in the STEM landscape.\u00a0 Within this PL section we have selected reading material<\/span><\/strong><\/a> which can support you to deepen your professional knowledge and understanding and help you develop progressive and innovative practice. Here you will find policy documents and reports relating to STEM, Improving Gender Balance and equalities, Digital, Developing the Young Workforce and research demonstrating effective approaches to STEM education.<\/p>\n A professional learning offer from the STEM Education Officers at Education Officers is available and further details can be found in the section titled STEMedscot professional learning<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n The STEM Summary page<\/a> provides a summary of key information, resources, and exemplification relating to Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).<\/p>\n This page aims to support policy makers and practitioners from all sectors with an interest in, or responsibility for, STEM-related learning.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Technologies Wakelet<\/strong><\/p>\n With Computing Science, CDT, Home Economics and Business Education – there are materials stored online which can be used for each curricular area.
