Applications are now open and close on 24 May. Find out more and apply:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/STEMGrants2021\">bit.ly\/STEMGrants2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>STEM Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dumfries &amp; Galloway\u2019s fourth annual STEM Conference focussing on all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is now available.<\/p>\n<p>Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year\u2019s event is an online conference.<\/p>\n<p>With keynote addresses, workshops &amp; marketplace on all aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering &amp; Mathematics \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/STEMcentralinmotion\/uploads\/sites\/1544\/2021\/04\/29144801\/STEM-Conference-2021-Participants-new.pdf\">STEM Conference 2021 Participants.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All conference materials are available within Glow throughout Term 4 and into next session.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/STEMcentralinmotion\/uploads\/sites\/1544\/2021\/04\/29144535\/Dumfries-and-Galloway-STEM-Conference-2021-Access-Guide.pdf\">Dumfries and Galloway STEM Conference 2021 Access Guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Outdoor Classroom Day &#8211; 20 May<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/outdoorclassroomday.org.uk\/\">Outdoor Classroom Day <\/a>is a global movement to make time outdoors part of every child\u2019s day.\u00a0 On two days of action each year in May and November, teachers take children outdoors to play and learn. Being outdoors and active is a vital part of growing up and living a healthy and fulfilled life; learning outdoors has benefits for children, young people and adults alike.<\/p>\n<p>Four outdoor learning webinars are coming up this term &#8211; find sign up details of these on <a href=\"https:\/\/professionallearning.education.gov.scot\/learn\/events\/\">Education Scotland Events<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Glasgow Science Centre &#8211; free online festival<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Glasgow Science Centre is holding its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasgowlive.co.uk\/special-features\/curious-innovation-glasgow-science-centre-20564714\">second online festival<\/a> from May 19 &#8211; 21, and everyone aged 10 and upwards is invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Curious About Innovation will celebrate the innovative spirit in all of us, and how that spirit can change the world. The three-day programme of live talks, interviews, games and resources will reveal how technology and innovation are solving global challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel in(to) the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>University of Dundee School of Science and Engineering with the Tayside &amp; Fife branch of the Institution of Civil Engineers, have launched this year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dundee.ac.uk\/stories\/stem-poster-competition\">annual STEM poster competition<\/a> aimed at primary and secondary school students. The topic is \u201c<strong>Travel in(to) the Future<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>There are prizes in each category, in the form of Amazon vouchers.<\/p>\n<p>The competition closes on 16\u00a0June 2021 (midnight).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Science Planning Resource<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Supporting learning, teaching and assessment of science in early learning and childcare settings and primary schools, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/stemnation\/science-planning-resource\/\">this resource<\/a> has been developed through the RAiSE Programme with support from Education Scotland and Scottish Government.<\/p>\n<p>This resource supports planning for science around the experiences and outcomes from early to second level.
