{"id":539,"date":"2010-09-09T10:58:43","date_gmt":"2010-09-09T10:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/ISRU-News\/?p=539"},"modified":"2010-09-09T11:02:45","modified_gmt":"2010-09-09T11:02:45","slug":"learn-how-to-protect-your-child-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/ISRU-News\/2010\/09\/09\/learn-how-to-protect-your-child-online\/","title":{"rendered":"Learn how to protect your child online&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of CEOP\u2019s \u2018Back to School\u2019 campaign, they are looking to engage parents and carers to become more involved in protecting their children online. \u00a0The attached <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/public\/ISRU-News\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2010\/09\/Back_to_School_Parent_Letter.pdf\">Back_to_School_Parent_Letter<\/a> has been designed to be sent out to parents to promote positive steps they can adopt to help safeguard their child.<\/p>\n<p>They would be grateful if you could distribute this letter among your relevant professional contacts, and encourage them to print the letter and distribute it to parents. \u00a0It is a great way of engaging parents at the start of the academic year and introducing internet safety as a key aspect of their child\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p>The ClickCEOP Facebook app has been successful since its launch in July, with over 50,000 downloads. \u00a0As a direct result of the app, there has already been over 5,000 unique visits from the Facebook environment to CEOP\u2019s help, advice and support centre on a range of online safety issues, which in turn has led to over hundreds of reports to CEOP so far. \u00a0They believe it\u2019s extremely important to raise awareness of this app among parents, to enable them to help protect their child.<\/p>\n<p>You can keep them updated\u00a0of your activities by emailing <em><a href=\"\/\/052B66C8-68D9-4353-83A8-1EF5FDB6EC44\/education@ceop.gov.uk\">education@ceop.gov.uk<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of CEOP\u2019s \u2018Back to School\u2019 campaign, they are looking to engage parents and carers to become more involved in protecting their children online. \u00a0The attached Back_to_School_Parent_Letter has been designed to be sent out to parents to promote positive steps they can adopt to help safeguard their child.
