Tulliallan Primary – developing skills for life!

Our new kitchen area is now fully stocked and we are using it more and more.

Here are some of our SNAC (School Nutritional Advisory Council) reps setting everything up.  They have taken responsibility for deciding upon the layout of the kitchen and for making sure that all of our new equipment is safely and conveniently stored for our use.

So far we have been lucky to have several organisations come into School to help us learn new skills that we can use in school and at home.

Chefs from Fife College came  in to run Masterclasses where we got to prepare healthy wraps.  We learned that the more colourful the mix of food the better as this means a wider range of nutrients, we also tried new food combinations.  The wraps we made were absolutely delicious and so easy to do that some of us have made them at home for our families!

We have also had Meat Demonstrations where we learned about quality Scottish meat and made food using Scottish beef.

We are all really excited about the learning experiences we have had so far and are looking forward to lots more opportunities to use our kitchen and café next term!
