Youngsters and staff at Hazelwood School, for children with sensory impairments, will be guests of honour at a special preview reception to celebrate the opening of their art exhibition at Tramway.<\/p>\n
The exhibition, with over 35 framed pieces in a variety of mediums, is the culmination of a six week project initiated by the artist Sarah Duke and funded by the R.S MacDonald Trust.<\/p>\n
The exhibition opens to the public on Friday 26 November and will run until Sunday 12 December.<\/p>\n
The artwork is for sale with all donations going to the school.<\/p>\n
Monica McGeever, Hazelwood\u2019s head teacher, is delighted her children\u2019s artwork will be on display in Tramway\u2019s gallery and said: \u201cThe youngsters have loved working with the artist in residence and it\u2019s such an honour that their efforts and hard work is being rewarded with a professional art show.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe children were encouraged to express their feelings and the results are something very special.\u00a0 I am so proud of them all and delighted that their families and the general public will be able to view the school\u2019s artistic talents.\u201d<\/p>\n
Admission is free and Tramway is open Tuesday \u2013 Friday 10am \u2013 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 12noon \u2013 6pm<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
