The project facilitates interaction with the natural world through quality artistic experiences, re-thinking traditional views of nature and noticing and appreciating nature on our doorstep. Sessions are tailored to the unique surroundings of each school playground, and through imaginative play and adventurous learning, Out to Play aims to deepen young people\u2019s connection to our natural world.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Out to Play Teacher CPD Opportunities 2017<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the project, Eco Drama have some upcoming Out to Play Teacher CPD opportunities which were a popular element of the 2015 pilot project, designed to\u00a0engage primary school teachers in arts-based outdoor learning. The sessions are open to teachers from any primary school across Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Eco Drama will be running after school twilight CPD sessions on the following dates in 2017:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>26<sup>th<\/sup> September 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 Dalmarnock Primary School, Glasgow \u00a0**PLACES \u00a0LIMITED**<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>27<sup>th<\/sup> September 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 Dalmarnock Primary School, Glasgow \u00a0**PLACES \u00a0LIMITED**<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>20<sup>th<\/sup> November 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 venue tbc<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>21<sup>st<\/sup> November 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 venue tbc<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>22<sup>nd<\/sup> November 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 venue tbc<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>23<sup>rd<\/sup> November 2017 \u2013 3.30-5.30pm \u2013 venue tbc<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the 2 hour session, teachers will explore how to integrate outdoor learning into the school curriculum and how to utilise creative learning\u00a0methods such as <strong>drama, storytelling, song <\/strong>and<strong> movement<\/strong> in order to engage learners with the natural environment. Participating teachers will also be provided with their very own\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecodrama.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/SAMPLE-Out-to-Play-Resource-Pack.pdf\">Out to Play\u00a0Outdoor Learning Resource Pack<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The session will be led by Eco Drama\u2019s Out to Play Drama Artist, Ben Mali Macfadyen, who will ensure that there is a mixture of activities and discussion tailored to the various ages and stages of the primary school curriculum.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Aims<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the end of the CPD teachers will;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have an increased understanding of the role of drama and storytelling within outdoor learning.<\/li>\n<li>Have improved knowledge, confidence &amp; skills in delivering arts-based outdoor learning.<\/li>\n<li>Have actively participated in creative learning and nature connection activities which can be delivered with children.<\/li>\n<li>Have a bank of ideas and resources on which to draw on for future outdoor learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Reviews<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI hadn\u2019t realised the power of imagination within outdoor learning.
