www.themakersvillage.com<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Wednesday 18th March 2015<\/p>\n 4.30pm \u2013 6.30pm<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Doors open at 4pm for refreshments and registration and time after for<\/p>\n networking and refreshments until 7pm<\/p>\n <\/p>\n All welcome.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n After February\u2019s sold out conversation exploring De Bono\u2019s lateral<\/p>\n thinking theories we continue our focus on creative problem solving.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are looking forward to welcoming Dr Scott Sherwood who will lead a<\/p>\n participative and engaging 2 hour workshop sharing some tools and<\/p>\n exercises you can use to consider new thinking about existing issues in<\/p>\n school, community or work.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This session will introduce design thinking, a rigorous creative<\/p>\n process that enables individuals and organisations to identify and<\/p>\n articulate the challenges they face, while also enabling them to create<\/p>\n feasible and viable solutions. Using design thinking tools and<\/p>\n methodologies, individuals and organisations are able to develop empathy<\/p>\n for the people they are designing for (i.e. pupils, students, teachers,<\/p>\n lecturers, staff etc), challenge their own assumptions and understand<\/p>\n their underlying motivations.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dr Scott Sherwood is a widely published academic and has led<\/p>\n organisational change initiatives, including the innovation programme in<\/p>\n the Technology Strategy Board\u2019s \u00a324 million Future City Demonstrator.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This workshops is open to head teachers, teachers, SLA\u2019s, education<\/p>\n officers, early year\u2019s educators, lecturers (FE and HE), students,<\/p>\n arts development officers, CLD officers, youth workers, community<\/p>\n workers etc. This workshop would also be of interest to creative<\/p>\n practitioners working in a learning \/ community context.
