BBC Get Creative: What\u2019s the future of education?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Get Creative is a new, public-facing, year long campaign led by the BBC<\/p>\n
together with many other partners. It aims to raise the profile of arts,<\/p>\n
culture and creativity, to highlight their central place in all our<\/p>\n
lives and to celebrate where they happen all over the nation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Get Creative will be launched through a series of events and debates<\/p>\n
all over the UK \u2013 some of which will be picked up and covered by the<\/p>\n
BBC on their TV or radio channels. Over the next year lots of different<\/p>\n
activities, programmes, events and art works will be part of the Get<\/p>\n
Creative Programme.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We think that the launch is a great opportunity to ensure that young<\/p>\n
people and learning have a profile in this process right from the start,<\/p>\n
so the CLA wants to ask all our members and supporters a question:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u2018What is the future of education?\u2019<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We will be holding an event in the launch week of 23 February at which<\/p>\n
will we ask young people to work with artists and teachers to think<\/p>\n
through and present their ideas on the future of education. We\u2019ll<\/p>\n
collate and publish them, and ensure that the political teams and<\/p>\n
education leads in all the political parties who are writing the<\/p>\n
manifestos for the General Election are aware of them.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We want to showcase the fantastic power of cultural learning to inspire<\/p>\n
creativity and innovation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We\u2019d love you to be a part of this process too.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n

How to get involved:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1.Hold your own event or debate in the launch week where you discuss<\/p>\n
the future of education.<\/p>\n
2.Come up with suggestions, manifesto pledges and ideas for education<\/p>\n
over the next 20 years. Be as visionary and as innovative as you\u2019d<\/p>\n
like.<\/p>\n
3.Hold your event or debate in whatever format you\u2019d like \u2013<\/p>\n
workshops, meetings, a panel debate, a chat over coffee and cake, a<\/p>\n
twilight session, an online discussion, a festival, or a performance.<\/p>\n
You can make this discussion a part of an existing event or programme<\/p>\n
something new, it\u2019s up to you.<\/p>\n
4.Invite anyone you\u2019d like to be part of it \u2013 young people,<\/p>\n
teachers, artists, colleagues, policy makers, arts learning partners,<\/p>\n
parents.<\/p>\n
5.Let us know you\u2019re having it \u2013 email<\/p>\n

Let us know your top five<\/p>\n suggestions for the future of education \u2013 you can send us videos,<\/p>\n podcasts and artworks (with the right permissions), but put your ideas<\/p>\n on paper too.
