If you’re aged between 5-18, or work with young people who are, we<\/p>\n

need you …!<\/p>\n

\u2022 Are you an aspiring webmaster?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Are you into art and graphic design?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Do you love writing?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Is film-making or photography your passion?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Are you interested in business, marketing and managing a budget?<\/p>\n

We are recruiting children and young people from around Scotland to<\/p>\n

become part of a team; to work together to manage and develop a<\/p>\n

website.<\/p>\n

www.BeXcellent.org.uk <http:\/\/www.bexcellent.org.uk\/<\/a>><\/p>\n

is the only website available for children and young people to<\/p>\n

inform and share ideas on Curriculum for Excellence.<\/p>\n

The BeXcellent team will:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Develop and refresh the website<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide interesting, fun and relevant content<\/p>\n

\u2022 Produce a website designed and written by children and young<\/p>\n

people for children and young people<\/p>\n

A smaller group of the team will become the project leaders and will<\/p>\n

be expected to make decisions to help steer the work.<\/p>\n

There will be plenty of support available from staff at Children in<\/p>\n

Scotland and opportunities to learn from experts working in the<\/p>\n

different areas.<\/p>\n

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and showcase your talents<\/p>\n

and skills. We understand that some of you may want to start with a<\/p>\n

small contribution and build up your confidence and learn.<\/p>\n

However, you might feel ready to make a bigger commitment. Being part<\/p>\n

of the team is voluntary and will involve some of your time.<\/p>\n

The work will be complete by Spring 2014 and some of the team will<\/p>\n

launch the refreshed website at a big event in Edinburgh. There will<\/p>\n

be awards for special contributions made by team members and all team<\/p>\n

members will receive a certificate that can be used in personal<\/p>\n

profiles, for UCAS applications or future job applications.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Apply directly or through a school, youth group or club by<\/p>\n

\u2022 You need to be between the ages of 5 and 18<\/p>\n

\u2022 You need to have an adult sponsor or supporter. This could be a<\/p>\n

teacher, youth leader or family member<\/p>\n

\u2022 You need to have consent from an adult to take part in this<\/p>\n

project<\/p>\n

\u2022 Children in Scotland staff will be on hand throughout the project<\/p>\n

to support and guide you<\/p>\n

\u2022 The new website will be launched at an event with Scottish<\/p>\n

Government in Spring 2014 and all participants will be invited<\/p>\n
