{"id":1790,"date":"2012-05-15T14:39:41","date_gmt":"2012-05-15T14:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/CreativityPortalAdmin\/?p=1790"},"modified":"2012-05-15T14:39:41","modified_gmt":"2012-05-15T14:39:41","slug":"seminar-event-presented-by-licketyspit-children%e2%80%99s-theatre-company","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/glowblogs\/CreativityPortalAdmin\/2012\/05\/15\/seminar-event-presented-by-licketyspit-children%e2%80%99s-theatre-company\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminar event presented by Licketyspit Children\u2019s Theatre Company"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would be delighted if you could join us for the <strong>Glasgow Launch of <em>LicketyLeap <\/em>on<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday 22<\/strong><strong>nd <\/strong><strong>May 2012, 6pm \u2013 8pm (refreshments provided)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Drumchapel Community Centre, 320 Kinfauns Drive, Glasgow G15 7HA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funded by Scottish Government through the Inspiring Scotland <strong><em>Early Years Early Action<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Fund<\/em><\/strong>, <strong>Licketyspit <\/strong>is the first theatre company commissioned to deliver <strong>Early<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Intervention <\/strong>in this way. <strong>LicketyLeap <\/strong>is a <strong>unique immersive theatre project for three<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>to five year olds<\/strong>, which engages with nursery staff, parents, carers and wider children\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>service providers. Interim <strong>evaluation <\/strong>on recent work in North Edinburgh, to be announced<\/p>\n<p>at this event, indicates remarkable results in relation to <strong>confidence, social skills,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>emotional literacy and resilience and problem solving <\/strong>among the vulnerable early<\/p>\n<p>years children who have participated. This, the first year of the project, will see 230 early<\/p>\n<p>years children in <strong>Drumchapel <\/strong>experience LicketyLeap, together with their teachers,<\/p>\n<p>families and carers.<\/p>\n<p>The event will include a presentation, followed by a short film of LicketyLeap in action.<\/p>\n<p>There will be an opportunity for questions and a discussion about the relevance of this<\/p>\n<p>work to other children\u2019s service providers. LicketyLeap has been getting an unprecedented<\/p>\n<p>response from families and carers and is a prime example of the way arts projects can<\/p>\n<p>empower vulnerable children and inspire communities.
