On Islay, Mull, Tiree and Bute the Creative Arts in Schools Team (CAST) have<\/p>\n
been holding two day workshops offering pupils the opportunity to work with<\/p>\n
a musician and two visual artists.<\/p>\n
The concept for the project is \u0152recognising and celebrating potential<\/p>\n
opportunities for our islands through harnessing tidal\/wave energy.\u00b9<\/p>\n
The pupils reflected this concept by focussing throughout on experimental<\/p>\n
application of modern technologies such as digital art and audio sequencing<\/p>\n
to conventional art, crafts and music.<\/p>\n
During the workshops CAST and the pupils were joined via glowmeets by a<\/p>\n
marine tidal scientist from SAMS and a geo-poet. Elements of their talks<\/p>\n
have been incorporated into the artwork and music by the pupils.<\/p>\n
The outcome of the workshop has been pupil-led multimedia art work and<\/p>\n
music.<\/p>\n
Creativity has been at the heart of every step of this process.<\/p>\n
The project has been funded by \u0152Scotland\u00b9s Islands\u00b9 and Argyll & Bute<\/p>\n
