The Into Film Festival – an annual series of free film and education events for 5 – 19 year olds – will take place across the UK from 4 – 20 November 2015. With 59 confirmed venues across Scotland, the Festival reaches as far as Port Ellen, Kirkwall, Aberdeen and Dumfries. A mobile cinema screen will travel to remote areas allowing those who live too far from a cinema to access the Festival.
The Festival’s exciting programme for 2015 will act as a springboard to open discussions with young people on a variety of topics that range from the creative expression of personal and collective cultural identity, to the exploration of love and healthy relationships, the challenging of historical attitudes and a celebration of British film.
Mapped against curricula from across the four nations, and with support from the Festival’s various education resources, the programme offers an array of subject-specific learning, and wider personal development opportunities, for all young people. Film titles include those selected from the archives as well as classics and blockbuster premieres, from modern foreign language to animation. Learnings from these titles can be applied to all subject areas, across all ages and abilities, offering students an unforgettable experience and understanding of the power of cinema.
Nearly 450,000 students and educators are expected to participate in one of the 3,000 events this year, including a screening programme of 150+ film titles, industry meet and greets, expert Q&As, filmmaking workshops and much more.
