Young people invited to join Creative Generation project

Perth Museum & Art Gallery is looking for young people aged 16 to 25 to join a new project where they can discover more about the art world and life as a practising artist or budding curator.

Creative Generation is part of GENERATION, a national celebration of 25 years of contemporary art in Scotland, and young people taking part in the project will be focussing in particular on the work of Scottish painter Alison Watt, whose art will be showcased in an exhibition at Perth Museum and Art Gallery during the summer of 2014.

Participants will have the chance to gain experience of being an artist or curator and share their newly-gained knowledge with visitors to the Museum and Art Gallery.

Anyone aged 16 to 25 who is interested in studying art or in continuing art as a career is invited to apply. The closing date for applications is Monday 28th April 2014.

For further information and to obtain an application form, please visit Perth Museum and Art Gallery, George Street, Perth, emailartsdev@pkc.gov.uk or call 01738 632488 and ask for Anna Murray, Project Coordinator for Creative Generation.

Creativity Portal – has it made an impact?

The Creativity Portal is now 3 years old and we would love to hear from anyone who has used it – has it challenged your idea of creativity? Have you found it useful? Did it lead you to any inspiring resources, research or contacts?

If you have ever visited the Creativity Portal please take the time to answer a 5-minute questionnaire that will allow us to build a picture of what impact the Creativity Portal has made and give direction to its development in the future. Your responses will be invaluable in taking Education Scotland’s support of creative teaching and creative learning forward.

To access the questionnaire click the link below:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/creativityportal2014

Your responses will form a vital piece of evidence for an independent evaluation of the Creativity Portal, led by Consilium Research and Consultancy, which will be published on the Creativity Portal in April/May.

The Tin Forest Light Up – National Theatre of Scotland and the Commonwealth Games

The National Theatre of Scotland is asking you to make a Light Up Lantern out of junk, and join hundreds of others in your local community and around the world, to plant your lantern in a forgotten place. It might be a local park or derelict ground; it might be your garden or back court. What’s important is you plant it and share the moment when Spring arrives, with the promise of a flowering future.
