The Nation//Live: Work has been written by Martin O’Connor
in collaboration with the people of Clydebank
This performance celebrates the life and legacy of Jimmy Reid, the trade unionist and one
of the leaders of the 1971-2 Work-in at the Upper Clyde Shipbuilders. Created by
Glasgow-based theatre company Visible Fictions, it is part of a project coinciding
with the 40th anniversary of the Work-in. The project addresses the meaning of work
in contemporary Scotland, specifically in relation to Clydeside.
