Within a Curriculum for Excellence there is a greater emphasis placed on health and wellbeing, recognising the need for children to develop positive, informed attitudes to taking care of themselves. It includes children being active, eating healthily, emotionally resilient and able to make informed choices. As part of this we don’t allow children to bring fizzy drinks into school and encourage pupils to bring healthy snacks into school. We encourage our pupils to be as active as possible at play-time. We take part in The Daily Mile. Each class also has a minimum of two hours of P.E. per week.

PATHS

We have embedded our Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS) journey throughout the whole school . We regularly share our emotions using our Emotional Check-Ins throughout the school day and celebrate individuals by giving them compliments with our Pupil of the Day.

Our P6 Pupils have applied, interviewed and been successful to become our PATHS Playground Pals.
