Action Plan for session 2025-26\u00a0 has been agreed based on discussions about the needs of the school and concerns raised by families in recent years.<\/h3>\n<h3>It has been agreed that fundraising in 2025-26\u00a0 will be used to support the school to provide &#8211;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>A treat for all pupils at Christmas<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>An Easter treat for every pupil<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Leavers hoodies for all Primary 7 pupils<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>The Parent Council are always open to new ideas about fundraising. Please contact the Fundraising Coordinator using the email above with any ideas and\/or suggestions.<\/h3>\n<h3><b>The agreed Parent Council \u2018Grand Challenge\u2019 for session 2025-26 are \u2013<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><b>Support the school to raise awareness with all relevant bodies about the ongoing road traffic concerns<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><b>Support the school to further develop community links that will enhance pupil learning experiences<\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><b>Support the school to further connect with families <\/b><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">About the Parent Council <\/span><\/h1>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">What is the Parent Forum?<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>The Scottish Government passed the <a title=\"opens in a new browser window\" href=\"http:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/asp\/2006\/8\/contents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006<\/a> to encourage and support more parents to become involved in the life and work of the school.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>The membership of the Parent Forum is made up of all parents who have a child at an education authority school. Membership of the Parent Forum allows parents to have a say in the local arrangements to enable their collective view to be represented on matters such as the quality and standards of education at the school and other matters of interest to parents. One of the ways parents in the Parent Forum will be able to express their views will be through the Parent Council.<\/h4>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">What is the Parent Council?<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>The Parent Council is a group of parents selected by members of the Parent Forum to represent all the parents of children at the school. Parent Councils are very flexible groups and the Parent Forum can decide on the type of group it wants to represent their views. The type of things a Parent Council could get involved in include:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Supporting the work of the school<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Gathering and representing parents&#8217; views to the Head Teacher, education authority and HMIE<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils and the local community<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Fundraising<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Involvement in the appointment of senior school staff<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Who can be a member of the Parent Council?<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3>Generally members of the Parent Council must be parents of children who attend the school and the chairperson must have a child in the school.
