Welcome to Thornwood Out of School Care.

We are know as ‘The Afty’ (Thorwood children gave us this name).

We operate in Thornwood Primary between 3 and 6pm daily, Monday to Friday.  We are based in the school cafeteria but we make good use of the school playgrounds.

Our staff collect Primary 1 and 2 children from their teachers at 3pm.

P3-7 children come straight to us from their class line at 3pm.

We offer many varied activities including arts & crafts, baking, sports, drama and music.

Outdoor play is also encouraged at the after school club.

Children are given a healthy snack on arrival and fruit and water are available throughout each session.

Information for parents/carers whose child is still at nursery:

We give a presentation to new Primary 1 families at the school’s pre-entrant programme in May/June. New families can put their children’s names down for a place at ‘Afty’ at this meeting. If you would like further information prior to this, please contact the manager at the number or email above.
