Vision Statement

At Thornwood Primary School and Nursery Class we will continue to provide a safe, caring and welcoming environment where every child and staff member will ‘be the best they can be’.

We aim to:-

  • Prove a nurturing and secure environment where children, staff and parents/carers feel happy and are valued
  • Encourage each child to become a successful learner by providing challenging and stimulating experiences
  • Promote awareness of health and wellbeing throughout the school to encourage healthy and active lifestyles
  • Develop the personalities, talents, abilities, and ambitions of our young people in a supportive, inclusive culture where we value each other’s individuality and diversity
  • To strengthen relationships with all by continuing to create a positive ethos
  • To provide a broad, general education which meets individual needs
  • To equip pupils with the skills, attitudes and expectations necessary to prosper
  • To encourage pupils to have a sense of pride in themselves and in our school community

In doing this we will ensure that each child’s time at Thornwood will be happy and a good foundation for life, enabling them to be Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors.
