Our Mini Librarians are a dedicated team of learners from Primary 4–7 who help make our school library a welcoming and inspiring place for everyone. All P4–7 learners are invited to apply for the position, and successful applicants are then interviewed by older Mini Librarians before joining the team.
Once selected, Mini Librarians take the lead in organising and developing our new library space, sharing creative ideas about what children would love to see and do there. They also plan literacy events, train other pupils on using the library, and help ensure the space runs smoothly.
Last session, our Mini Librarians enjoyed a visit to Thornliebank Library, where they took part in a training session to learn more about how a real library operates — bringing back lots of fantastic ideas to share with our school!
The group have already planned an exciting day for Michael Rosen Day and are currently organising events for Book Week Scotland, making reading fun and engaging for everyone.
Michael Rosen Day!
All of our children had a fantastic time celebrating Michael Rosen Day on 13th November, and our Mini Librarians were so proud! Our Poetry Party dress-down day raised £184.14 for school funds — thank you to all our families who supported the event and helped boost our school resources.
As always, this money goes directly towards enriching our children’s learning experiences, so it will be put to great use.
Check out some pictures and clips from the day on our Twitter/X page: @vincents_st. We were even lucky enough…
