We have been learning about:

We have enjoyed:

- Learning our song for the Burns assembly
- ‘Smarties’ fractions
- Sumdog competition
- ICT research about Malawi
We have been successful because we have learned the song for the Burns Assembly. We have a better understanding of fractions and summarising and some of our classmates have completed the Sumdog competition. We can also apply what we have learned about homophones to our own writing.
This week we have been learning about coordinates. We can find points on a grid and we can also write and read grid references. We have also been learning about the 24 hour clock and how to convert 12hour times to 24 hour times.
P4s have been learning about division and we have all been revising our tables.
In literacy we have been reading The Mystery of the Red Moon and have been working on our inference skills – we can find clues in the texts.
To celebrate Burns’ day we wrote poems in our own accents and languages about things we love. We had a great time at our school Burns’ celebration. We sang ‘I’m on my Way’ by the Proclaimers.
Learning about Robert Burns has been really fun, especially creating a haggis emoji with Mrs Hall.

This week we have been learning a new reading skill -making inferences. We have been finding clues in texts to find out more about the story. We have also been learning how to round numbers to the nearest 10. In topic work we having been keeping a record of the weather.
We enjoyed making a rain gauge this week as part of our topic. We also enjoyed performing for our Burns Assembly.
We have been successful learning our 3 times table.
In primary 1c, we have loved being back to school, after our Christmas break!
In literacy, we have now learned all 26 sounds of the alphabet. We have been looking at what is important in a sentence- full stop, capital letters, and finger spaces. We have created sentences using a who, when, where.
In numeracy, we have been using addition. We used our school grounds to do outdoor learning of addition with chalk, with a partner. This was really fun!
In RE, we learned all about Noah’s ark, and why rainbows are important in that story.
We learned about Robert Burns, and sung ‘My Bonnie’ in front of the whole school at assembly.
We can’t wait until our topic week next week on ‘Fairytales’.
We have been learning more about adding numbers together, number stories and how to present our work neatly in our Numeracy jotters. Also we have been counting to 100 adding on 1, 2 and 10 at a time.
We enjoyed learning the rhyme “Wee Willie Winkie” to present at the school’s Robert Burns Assembly.
Our successes in school this week would include working very well in our first Physical Literacy session with Mr Penman and also trying hard to independently log on and off in ICT.
We have been learning about using our reading skills. We like to predict what will happen next.
We loved our Active literacy lesson with Mr Penman. We were jumping and skipping and balancing. We are going to practise our finger game skills before we see him again.
We are all getting better at writing and we can peer asses by checking each others handwriting. Lots of people got a sticker for being successful learners.
