The English department and a group of dedicated young people in our Literature Ambassadors group have been working diligently towards the Scottish Book Trust’s Reading Schools Award. We are currently a Silver Reading School!<\/p>\n
This means:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Each member of staff is encouraged to share what they are reading through posters outside of classrooms and in their email signature.<\/li>\n
- Young people act as Reading Role-Models by wearing “Ask Me What I’m Reading” badges (that they made themselves)!<\/li>\n
- Young people in the Literature Ambassadors group carry out paired reading sessions with S1 pupils.<\/li>\n
- The English department and the library work together to diversify and build a curriculum that reflects the lives and interests of our young people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
