{"id":279,"date":"2021-02-01T13:56:12","date_gmt":"2021-02-01T13:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/stmariagoretti\/?p=279"},"modified":"2021-02-01T13:56:12","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T13:56:12","slug":"jrso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/gc\/stmariagoretti\/jrso\/","title":{"rendered":"JRSO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">The Junior Road Safety Officer (JRSO) programme in\u00a0Glasgow City Council\u00a0puts children in control of highlighting road safety issues within their own school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">A particularly empowering programme, it gives senior pupils the opportunity to become JRSO\u2019s for either a one or two year period.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Their main tasks are to organise a road safety notice board, deliver road safety presentations to classes or assemblies and run competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Prospective candidates, P6 or P7 pupils have the opportunity to\u00a0apply for the position of JRSO and may go through formal interviews with their teacher.
