Rights are everywhere at St Francis\u2019!<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

At St Francis\u2019, children\u2019s rights are part of everyday school life.<\/p>\n

From learning in our classrooms and playing with friends to feeling safe, included and cared for, the UNCRC can be seen in so many different parts of our school day.<\/p>\n

As we continue our journey towards Gold, we are learning to recognise how rights are experienced every day and how they help make St Francis\u2019 a happy, welcoming and respectful place for everyone.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcda The Right to Learn<\/h2>\n

Every day at St Francis\u2019 is full of opportunities to learn, explore, discover and develop our talents.<\/p>\n

Article 28: Right to Education<\/h3>\n

Every child has the right to an education.<\/p>\n

Article 29: Goals of Education<\/h3>\n

Education should help children develop their talents and abilities and encourage respect for human rights and for others.<\/p>\n

School life is about much more than sitting at a desk!<\/p>\n

Whether we are playing, creating, performing, exploring or enjoying time with friends, these experiences help us learn, develop and have fun together.<\/p>\n

Article 31: Leisure, Play and Culture<\/h3>\n

Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in cultural and creative activities.<\/p>\n

Every child should feel safe and protected.<\/p>\n

At St Francis\u2019, we work together to create an environment where pupils feel secure, cared for and able to learn and grow.<\/p>\n

Article 19: Protection from Violence<\/h3>\n

Children have the right to be protected from violence, abuse and harm.<\/p>\n

Every child has rights, no matter who they are.<\/p>\n

We celebrate what makes each of us unique and work to make sure everyone feels welcomed, valued and part of our St Francis\u2019 community.<\/p>\n

Article 2: Non-Discrimination<\/h3>\n

All children have all the rights in the UNCRC, without discrimination of any kind.<\/p>\n

Children\u2019s rights can be seen in big moments and small ones.<\/p>\n

They are there when we learn, play, create, feel safe, receive support, spend time with friends and know that we belong.<\/p>\n

As we continue our journey towards Gold, we will keep sharing examples of how children\u2019s rights are becoming increasingly visible and understood throughout St Francis\u2019.<\/p>\n
