Learning about rights. Taking action. Making a difference.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

At St Francis\u2019, learning about children\u2019s rights is only part of our journey.<\/p>\n

As our understanding of the UNCRC grows, we want pupils to recognise when the rights of children are being supported and when they may be at risk, both close to home and around the world.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, we want our pupils to know that they can use their knowledge, ideas and actions to make a positive difference.<\/p>\n

\ud83c\udf0d From Learning to Action<\/h2>\n

Taking action can begin with something small.<\/p>\n

It might start with a question during a lesson, something we discover about children in another part of the world or an issue that pupils feel strongly about.<\/p>\n

From there, pupils can explore the rights involved, find out more and consider what meaningful action they could take.<\/p>\n

We explore an issue and identify the children\u2019s rights connected to it.<\/p>\n

\ud83e\udd14 We Think<\/h3>\n

We consider why the issue matters and listen to different ideas and perspectives.<\/p>\n

We decide what we can realistically do to raise awareness, support others or help create positive change.<\/p>\n
