The entire nursery approach is based on play.<\/p>\n<p>Through this approach, the staff develop vital skills and knowledge and a positive attitude to learning from our children. All staff engage and challenge children\u2019s thinking using real-life and imaginary situations\u00a0<em>(Building the Curriculum 2).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We ensure that children are provided with opportunities for learning through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>spontaneous play<\/li>\n<li>planned, purposeful play<\/li>\n<li>investigating and exploring<\/li>\n<li>events and life experiences<\/li>\n<li>focused learning and teaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Children are supported when necessary through sensitive intervention to support or extend learning.
