Soak The Teacher raised a lot!

Our soak the teacher event was very successful and there was so much fun involved as well as raising £294.00 for Charity.

There was a lucky chance for 11 children whose names were drawn from a hat. They got to tip the ice bucket over the Head Teacher and Deputy and all the other teachers taking part. Thank you for being such good sports! We really enjoyed this and hope to do this again.

St Bridget’s Bendy Bunch

St Bridget’s Brilliant  Bendy Bunch went to a big competition in Bellahouston on the 8th February they done so well and level 2 done so well that they even came 2nd place in the whole of Glasgow. Level 2 had a other competition out of the whole Scotland and one of the girls  was outstanding and won 1st place out of the whole of Scotland and we are very proud of her and all of them.

We interviewed some of the  excellent level 1 and 2 Gymnasts

Some of the level 1 girls said, “We had to be patient and competitive. We were all nervous to go in but when we were about to start we felt exited. We felt that the competition went really well and we were very hopeful to win.”

Some of the level 2 girls said, “We were so exited and anxious for both competition’s  we all wanted to do it over again. When we got there we realised the competition was going to be really tuff but we were really proud of ourselves by wining 3rd in the whole of Scotland and 2nd in Glasgow.”

Well Done to all the gymnasts that had competed we are all very proud of  all of you !!!

Google Cardboard Adventure

Google cardboard was bringing your child halfway across the world and back in time for 3 o’klock last friday.

The whole  school took it in turns to experince google cardboard where they were either climbing a 900 metre tall mountain deep sea diving with sharks exploring a under ground cave or perhapes having a cassual stroll on the top of an active volcano!

It may look just like a cardboard box but for the people wearing them who knows what they could be seeing.

It was a fantastic fun experince for all the school and you can get one yourself by just downloading the app on your phone. Buy one of the boxes of Amazon and slip your phone inside look through and in no time you could be in the Great Barrier reef. Julia says “the best part is the boxes cost only 6 to 10 pounds”,  So next time we have a day off school you could decide to have a day of work and spend your time having  fun filled experiences with  VR Google. (but make sure you dont trip over the cat!)

Our senior choir the best in Glasgow!

Our wonderful senior choir lead by Mr. Carr & Mr. McMahon a few weeks ago won their class in the Glasgow Music Festival. This is a big achievement for our school and to add to that a great experience for our children.  The choir gained the highest score from all the hymn signing classes and this resulted  in us winning not only first place but another award called the Ian Barry award.

Something to keep in mind is that this competition was open to the whole of Glasgow so you can say that our senior choir is the best in the whole of Glasgow!

Well done to all the members of the choir who will also receive a minimized laminated copy of the first class certificate which they will all be able to keep as a great memory for the rest of their life “well done the school is very proud of you” said Mrs. O’Donnell and that message is also on the bottom of each of their certificates.

Congratulations to our choir on this great achievement.

P5 Swimmers Making a Splash!

For the past 6 weeks Primary 5 children have being going to Easterhouse Swimming Pool. Some children have learned how to to swim and others have developed new skills like back strokes and swimming under water through hoops. It was a great experience to get a chance to swim with our class mates. A big thanks to our swimming teacher Miss Wrench!    Post by Erin Mosson and Sophia Brown
