May 23, 2017 by User deactivated | 0 comments

There are 58 new primary ones they are coming from lots of different nursery’s like St Bridget’s, sand age , Coconut corner, St Claire’s, Happitots,  and Garrowhill. They came to see the school for the first time on the 16/05/17 and they are coming again. They had a wonderful time, they were all fantastic and none of them cried. They went round the school and saw the primary one classes. They went into the primary one classes and had a brilliant time with the teachers. In the classes they read stories, learned about biff chip and kipper and they sang songs. The teachers said they had a lovely time with them. We all wish the new primary ones the best of luck!

SBMSP -St Bridgets Member of Scottish Parliment

On the 3rd of May our primary 7 went to visit the Scottish Parliament where they went for a very sneaky peak in the debating chamber and managed to get a very special question and answer session with John Mason the MSP for Shettleston.

When p7 seven first arrived at the Scottish parliament they had to go through a metal detector and put anything they were carrying on to a conveyer belt that went through a computer that scanned it (a bit like an airport) after they went through security a guide lead them through the lobby and to a room.

The power point was mostly all about the history of the Scottish parliament then were escorted up to the very top level were they had a question and answer session with John Mason Shettleston’s MSP. After that they were all very quietly hushed into seats in the debating chamber were nobody moved for about half an hour while they all listened to a debate that never seemed to end after a while they had to leave and weren’t back to school for quite a while.

It was a great opportunity to get inside the Scottish parliament and see how our Government works.

P7 trip to Edinburgh castle

P7 on the 3rd of may went to Edinburgh castle on a full day trip the bus journey was long but was worth it when they got to the castle.

The castle was loaded with cannons that looked bigger than an average person with an incredible view all the way to sea. The castle had so many rooms and since we were also caught up in traffic we only explored so little of the great castle. Despite being on a tight schedule we managed to see the crown jewels and the stone of Destiny with various other important gems and jewels in the room. We managed to all fit inside a very small private chapel which was only for the Queens of the past to use for private prayers and we managed to see one of  the castles most famous cannons that was transported all the way from Belgium

The p7s hade a very fun day exploring what was one of the worlds most secure and safest fortresses.

Primary 7 have set up an exhibition called Gathering voices.

Here are a few words from their teacher.”I do not think they need to improve in anyway apart from being a bit louder,

all the teachers were very proud and could listen to them all day long.”

Great praise! So all round well done to the primary 7’s!
