Mathematics

Mathematics is important in our everyday life , allowing us to make sense of the world around us and to manage our lives . Using mathematics enables us to model real life situations and make connections and informed predictions. Mathematics equips us with many skills required for life, learning and work.

St Brendan’s pupils will actively participate in learning about the following areas of numeracy and mathematics:

• Number, Money and Measure
• Shape, Position and Movement
• Information Handling

The development of pupils’ problem solving and enquiry skills are promoted throughout numeracy and mathematics and the wider curriculum
