18th February 2021
Information on next week.
You will know by now that from Monday 22nd February we are absolutely delighted that P1-3 will be back to school full time. I’m sure they and you are looking forward to it. Obviously all of us would prefer all of the children back full time when it is safe to do so. Our hope is that all of these sacrifices we’ve made will mean that it won’t be too long.
Thank you so much for your support and for your comments on the surveys. We will keep asking questions as it helps to shape our next steps. From your comments we have pulled back screen time and hope to upload work/activities that can be done off screen and some more challenging activities. I also hope you know that we are proud of your children and the work they have done. We are not worried about them.
Below there are some details for you for next week all of these are to keep you and your children safe. They are not optional and all of this guidance must be followed:
We are operating a soft start which means there are no bells but a time slot when you can drop of your child(ren) P2, P2/3 and P3 can be dropped between 9 and 9.15, P1a and P1b can be dropped between 9.15 and 9.30. The children will be taken straight to class.
Children can be picked up from 2.50. P1a and b from the front gate, P2 infant play fence, P2/3 and 3 sensory garden.
All adults should wear a mask at drop off
Children will be learning outside and inside which means they should dress warmly. School jumper, plain joggers, legging and solid shoes. We have waterproof clothes here but it is a good idea for a warm jacket, hats gloves and so on.
As you know Scotland is still in lockdown. Households/families should not be mixing. I know this is really hard and I am finding it hard. But now that your children will be mixing in school and with other adults it is really important that you stick to lockdown rules to keep us safe. Children are telling us that they are visiting family and having sleepovers. Unless there are emergency reasons for this it is currently against lockdown rules.
It is also important to note that two of our teachers are expecting babies and we have to look after them too.
Please keep checking into teams. P1-3 we will continue to use this for information and home learning. P4-7 for the next few weeks it is where all your learning will be. I am hoping to be able to offer some time for some groups from the upper school to come into the playground for an outdoor session. I will let you know when this is possible.
Thank you for your support with all of this. Working together we will hopefully get through the next few weeks safely and your children will be able to be in school with no more lockdowns
Much love to you
