Springburn RMPS Department

Why Study RMPS?

RMPS encourages critical enquiry about the world around us.  For our young thinkers, it offers a place to learn and reflect on the beliefs and values of others, from within religious and non-religious perspectives.  It also allows them to explore  their understanding of the world around them and  develop their own opinions about a range of different religious, moral and philosophical issues.

RMPS plays a leading role in a curriculum for excellence by developing citizenship and empathy for others.    It also develops transferable thinking skills, encourages debate and hones the ability to work with others.

The skills you use in RMPS will be useful in many other areas of further education including philosophy, theology, law, history, sociology, medicine and psychology.  As well as this RMPS equips you with the skills and knowledge for many different careers including, teaching, law,  nursing, police, politics and care services.
