In April 2015, a group of talented young people from the school took part in Gig at the Grand where they showcased a years worth of hard work and dedication to a Music Industry course.
They called themselves BabyGiant and they were fantastic!
In October 2015 a number of senior music pupils attended a VIP premier of the BBC 10 Pieces film at the Glasgow Science Centre. The film was so good, we plan to see the concert live next year too!
In June 2015 the Performing Arts Department hosted a Youth Arts day where pupils were given the opportunity to try different activities ranging from drama and animation to electronic music making and 3D art! The workshops were delivered by NRFG and Toonspeak.

On the 5th of November 2015 former X Factor contestant Sam Callahan came to Springburn Academy to perform live for pupils. The concert went down a storm! He sang his latest single and a number of covers. He even made time to sign autographs and have his picture taken with the teachers!
On Monday 14th March, the Springburn Academy School Choir took part in the Glasgow Music Festival School Choir Competition at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. They performed Secret by The Pierces and Gangsta’s Paradise by Coolio. Although they were not placed, the choir came away with a lot of positive comments from the adjudicators and other choirs which really made their night! Well done to all involved!
In September 2016 the fabulous Osiligi Warriors will return to school for a performance of traditional Kenyan song, dance and games.
