Come back soon.<\/p>\n<h2>About Shawlands Academy<\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\">Shawlands Academy is a large, non denominational school situated on the south side of Glasgow, in Scotland. The pupils here number around 1360. It is a long established school dating from 1894. There was a private school of the same name located in Skirving Street which began about 1857. However, the school as we know it today opened its doors for the first time <strong>125 years ago\u00a0<\/strong>in the building on Pollokshaws Road which is now Shawlands Primary School. Shawlands Academy has modern classroom facilities through-out the school, thereby helping to maintain a high standard of education for pupils. The school attempts to combine the best elements of traditional Scottish education with a developing curriculum designed to equip pupils for the twenty-first century. There has been significant investment in technology which has improved pupil provision in all subjects\u00a0particularly\u00a0in Business Education, Computing, English, Modern Languages, Science, Design &amp;\u00a0Technology and Music.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Head teacher of Shawlands Academy is Mrs Pauline Carr.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"left\">School Vision<\/h2>\n<div>In Shawlands Academy we aim :<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>to provide the\u00a0<strong>highest standard<\/strong>\u00a0of learning and teaching<\/li>\n<li>to provide\u00a0<strong>equal opportunities<\/strong>\u00a0for all irrespective of ability, gender, race, ethnic origin and disadvantage<\/li>\n<li>to develop a\u00a0<strong>close<\/strong>\u00a0working relationship between school, home, and community<\/li>\n<li>to\u00a0<strong>emphasise<\/strong>\u00a0the work of individuals and their contribution to the school community<\/li>\n<li>to\u00a0<strong>foster<\/strong>\u00a0attitudes of respect, responsibility, compassion, honesty and self reliance<\/li>\n<li>to\u00a0<strong>motivate<\/strong>\u00a0pupils positively, raise their expectations and maximise their level of achievement<\/li>\n<li>to provide a high standard of\u00a0<strong>care<\/strong>\u00a0for staff and pupils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are working on our website.
