The Busking Fiddlers are a group of pupils originating from the Glasgow Gaelic School, aged from 9 to 17. The group busks in Glasgow City Centre to raise money towards the cost of NYOS courses and instrumental tuition.
Inspired by the UNICEF campaign launched during the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the Busking Fiddlers take a virtual UNICEF child busking with them, who receives one full share of the day’s collection. Since September 2014 they have raised nearly £300 for this fantastic cause. You can follow their fundraising progress here.
If you would like to donate, you can find out where the Busking Fiddlers are playing next on their Twitter page.
“It was a great pleasure to hear your lovely young musicians, fiddlers and a cellist, playing in Sauchiehall Street yesterday. I had a chance to talk to them and was impressed by their enthusiasm, intelligence, and pride in their school. What lovely young people – our culture and our future are in good hands, and the school can be very proud of them.”
