SQA Piping Exams

Well done to our three pupils who sat SQA exams on Pipes today – one instrument down, one to go!

The dates for the SQA Performing Exams are:

Pipe Band Snare Drumming – 19th February

Pipes – 12th March

All other instruments – 18th-20th March

The dates for the SQA Listening Exams are:

National 5 – Friday 8th May at 1pm

Higher – Thursday 7th May at 1pm

Advanced Higher – Thursday 7th May at 3pm

SGG has been very successful at this year’s Mod.

Gold badges were awarded to:

Tarsainn an Drochaid – Fiddle Groups Open U19

Na Fidhlearan Beaga – Fiddle Groups U13

Silver badges were awarded to:

Domhnall (BS5) – Piano Open U13

Tormod – Solo Singing Fluent U13 Boys

Innes – Traditional Singing Fluent U13 Boys

Bronze badges were awarded to:

Lewis (BS5) – Piano Open U13

Breda (BS7) – Solo Singing Fluent Girls 9-10

Lewis (AS5) – Solo Singing Boys Fluent 13-15

Eilidh (AS5) – Traditional Singing Fluent 13-15 Girls

SGG has enjoyed fantastic results in the recent SQA exams.

13 S2 to S4 pupils have secured Higher Music passes in addtition to the 8 pupils in S5 and S6

11 S1 and S2 pupils have secured a pass at National 5 level in addition to the 3 in S4.

2 pupils also passed their Advanced Higher.

Well done to all the pupils!!
