Ceòl Is Dannsa celebrates the best in traditional, contemporary and experimental music and dance featuring internationally acclaimed artists and performers alongside emerging talents from Glasgow’s Gaelic School.

8pm: Pupils from Glasgow’s Gaelic School take the stage to perform a set of traditionally inspired compositions and Gaelic song.
These young performers will demonstrate the wide range of talents being nurtured and developed in the school’s department of music.
9 – 9.30pm: Break
9.30 – 10.30pm: Catriona McKay, Chris Stout and Alistair MacDonald join forces to create a groundbreaking performance featuring traditional, contemporary and experimental forms of music, song, visual arts and choreography.

Shetland fiddle legend Chris Stout records and tours extensively with Catriona.
Alistair MacDonald, composer, performer and lecturer at Glasgow’s Conservatoire, works with performers, artists and choreographers from different media and backgrounds, to create work for international performance, broadcast and installations.
For this event the trio will collaborate with visual artist Dominic Snyder and dancer / choreographer Pennie Chivas a.k.a ‘The Snyver Project” who investigate the connections between dance, drawing, sculpture and live performance.
The trio will also invite two alumni from the Gaelic School, Shauna Currie and Joseph McCluskey, to collaborate in an astonishing reworking of traditional Gaelic song.
Children under 14 welcome until 10pm.
