Personal Support is a Curriculum for Excellence course which incorporates the four capacities &#8211; confident individuals, successful learners, responsible citizens and effective contributors &#8211; and provides a platform for discussion and personal development for our pupils. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-2\" id=\"builder-section-text_139-column-2\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"builder-text-column builder-text-column-3\" id=\"builder-section-text_139-column-3\">\n<div class=\"builder-text-content\">\n<h5>Faculty StafF<\/h5>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"builder-section-panels_99\" class=\"builder-section-prev-text builder-section builder-section-panels builder-section-last tabs-mode\" style=\"background-size: cover; background-repeat: no-repeat;background-position: center center;\">\n<div class=\"builder-section-content\">\n<div class=\"ttfmp-tabs-container\" data-height-style=\"\"  data-start-collapsed=\"false\">\n<ul class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-titles\">\n<li id=\"ttfmp-panels-item-title-panels-item_107\" class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-title\">\n\t\t<a href=\"#ttfmp-panels-item-content-panels-item_107\">Introduction to Wider Support System<\/a>\n\t<\/li>\n<li id=\"ttfmp-panels-item-title-panels-item_113\" class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-title\">\n\t\t<a href=\"#ttfmp-panels-item-content-panels-item_113\">Transition Support<\/a>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content-panels-item_107\" class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content\">\n<h3>Introduction to Wider Support System<\/h3>\n<p>S1 pupils were introduced to the wider support network that Saint Roch&#8217;s Secondary School takes pride in. Our support network includes individuals and groups such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SIMY Workers<\/li>\n<li>School Counsellor<\/li>\n<li>Careers Officer<\/li>\n<li>Lifelink<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content-panels-item_113\" class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content\">\n<h3>Transition Support<\/h3>\n<p>The Transition Support sessions were introduced as the first set of lessons in Personal Support for the new S1 pupils. The aim of Transition Support was to provide support for pupils coming from primary school into secondary school.<\/p>\n<p>The method of delivery used for these sessions was primarily Circle Time. Circle Time is a creative approach used by primary schools in order to manage many issues which pupils come across within the school community.<\/p>\n<p>There were several key elements involved in Circle Time &#8211; golden rules of Circle Time, listening and contributing, praise, incentives, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The capacities covered in Transition Support were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Confident Individuals<\/li>\n<li>Responsible Citizens<\/li>\n<li>Effective Contributors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Personal Support Welcome to Personal Support Personal Support was introduced at Saint Roch&#8217;s Secondary School in August 2010 for the new S1 pupils.
