Dear Parent\/Carer<\/p>\n

Once again we are approaching the end of another busy term here in Royston Primary. With this in mind, I wanted to pass on some important information for all our parents and carers.<\/p>\n

Parent Council<\/strong> \u2013 <\/strong>As mentioned previously, the Parent Council have been busy on your behalf, working in school and outside. At our recent meeting, they were able to share some information around the proposed Playground Improvements that they have been working hard to achieve. Funding is now almost in place to allow this to happen and following discussions between the company involved, the Parent Council and our Pupil Council, we hope to see this work start in the coming months. Some parents also spoke with the Parent Council about some issues around the playgrounds recently, especially in relation to scaffolding tower and its implications for playgrounds. As you can now see, the tower has been taken down and the work was completed satisfactorily. Hopefully, this will allow the playground situations to return to normal. Thanks to the parents who raised this with the Parent Council.<\/p>\n

Parental Open Afternoon<\/strong> \u2013<\/strong> On Tuesday 31st<\/sup> March<\/strong> the children from across all the classes would like you to come in and see the hard work that has been taking place in the school in recent weeks. From 1.30 pm until 2.30 pm you are all invited to come in and find out about things such as Magic Carpets in Primary 2 or Our Community in Primary 5\/4 or life as a Pirate in Primary 7, followed by teas and coffees until 3 pm. Our children and staff are busy creating learning opportunities to share with you on the day and would be delighted to see you there.<\/p>\n

Volunteers \u2013 <\/strong>Once again, I am making my monthly plea for parental helpers and volunteers. We are always on the look-out for parents and carers who can lend a hand with things such as toothbrushing in Primary 1 & 2; to Gardening at the Backlands across the week; to going on school outings when required. If you are able to lend a hand, we would be delighted to take that hand \u2013 please contact the school office to let us know if and when you can help.<\/p>\n

Parental Feedback Results \u2013<\/strong> In January this year, I issued questionnaires to 36 families across the school. Following their returns, I have included the results in the table below. Thank you to the 20 families who managed to complete the questionnaires for the school.<\/p>\n

These comments and completed questionnaires really help us as we continue to make Royston Primary the best that it can be for the whole Royston community. Thanks to everyone who took the time to help with this.<\/p>\n

As a school, we are delighted to welcome you in to work with us, to support the pupils in their learning and to make the school as vibrant as possible. Thank you for your continued and on-going support.<\/p>\n
