Welcome to The Orchard at Royston Primary School. Here\u00a0we work with pupils from all across the school on their health and wellbeing targets.<\/p>\n

Our work is based on Glasgow\u2019s nurturing principles, these are used throughout the school but they are our special focus.<\/p>\n

In the Orchard\u2026<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Children\u2019s learning is understood developmentally<\/strong> \u2013 we look at previous experiences when deciding what to do next.<\/li>\n
  2. The classroom offers a safe space <\/strong>\u2013 we have different areas to support different situations and emotions.<\/li>\n
  3. Nurture is important for the development of wellbeing and self-esteem<\/strong> \u2013 we know that pupils need to feel cared for before they can learn.<\/li>\n
  4. Language is understood as a vital form of communication<\/strong> \u2013 we choose our words carefully and encourage pupils to do the same.<\/li>\n
  5. All behaviour is communication<\/strong> \u2013 we always look to understand what actions are saying and we think and learn about body language too.<\/li>\n
  6. Transitions are significant in the lives of children<\/strong> \u2013 where we can we support children through changes in school and home life because we know how important it is to feel secure in your environment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We have lots of different fun activities and we make plans to work on together.<\/p>\n
