During the BGE in technical, you will experience working with tools and different materials, design and graphics to prepare you for the senior phase.

S1

Pupils get 1 period a week of technical spilt between the classroom and workshop. In the workshop, pupils will learn about tools and materials and manufacture products from wood and plastic. In the classroom, pupils will learn about the design process and learn how to use CAD and manual graphics techniques.

S2 (May-Dec)

Pupils will continue building on the skills learned in S1. In the workshop, pupils will focus on metalwork. Pupils will learn about the design process in more detail and continue developing the skills they learned in graphics.

S2 (Jan-May)

At this point, pupils will have chosen to specialise in either design and manufacture, practical woodwork or graphic communication.

S3

Pupils will remain in their chosen subjects and begin to developing skills and deepening their knowledge so they are prepared for national 4 and 5 in S4.
