We had great fun creating comparisons and sharing our ideas with the class.<\/p>\n<p>We also continued reading our class novel,\u00a0<i>The Girl Who Stole an Elephant<\/i>, and completed descriptive writing based on one of the chapters.<\/p>\n<p><b>Learning focus:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-end=\"803\" data-start=\"666\">\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Understanding figurative language<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Developing descriptive writing skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Using evidence from a text to inspire our own writing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Maths and Outdoor Learning<\/h3>\n<p>In Maths, we learned all the\u00a0compass points\u00a0and practised giving clear directions to our partners in the classroom and playground. We used our knowledge of\u00a0angles\u00a0to help us calculate accurate directions. We also enjoyed reinforcing our learning through new and engaging maths games.<\/p>\n<p><b>Learning focus:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-end=\"1301\" data-start=\"1159\">\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Using compass directions confidently<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Applying knowledge of angles in real-life contexts<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Building teamwork and communication skills<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Outdoor Education \u2013 Pinkston<\/h3>\n<p>We had our final session at Pinkston, where we learned about\u00a0predators and prey\u00a0and took part in exciting survival games in the forest environment. It was a fantastic way to experience learning outdoors and apply our knowledge in a practical setting.<\/p>\n<p><b>Learning focus:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-end=\"1764\" data-start=\"1624\">\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Understanding food chains and ecosystems<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Developing teamwork and strategic thinking<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Learning through active, outdoor experiences<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Health and Sport<\/h3>\n<p>Some pupils continued with their\u00a0swimming lessons, building water confidence and improving technique.<\/p>\n<p>We also learned about the\u00a0Winter Olympics, exploring different winter sports and watching highlights from the games.<\/p>\n<p><b>Learning focus:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul data-end=\"2214\" data-start=\"2073\">\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Developing physical skills and resilience<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Learning about international sporting events<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Understanding sportsmanship and dedication<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Special Visit<\/h3>\n<p>We were so excited to have Mrs Jodah come in and visit us and update us on all the fun things she&#8217;s been doing since she retired.<\/p>\n<h3>Teamwork &amp; Responsibility<\/h3>\n<p>We have introduced a new\u00a0class money reward system, which encourages teamwork, responsibility and positive behaviour.
