Pupils completed written responses in their jotters, developing their comprehension skills and exploring character actions and themes. They also created imaginative pieces, including an adventure story titled <em data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"576\">The Expedition<\/em>, and practised descriptive writing to enhance vocabulary and creativity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"653\" data-end=\"674\"><strong data-start=\"653\" data-end=\"672\">Learning focus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"842\">\n<li data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"711\">\n<p data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"711\">Developing reading comprehension<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"751\">\n<p data-start=\"714\" data-end=\"751\">Expressing ideas clearly in writing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"794\">\n<p data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"794\">Using descriptive language effectively<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"842\">\n<p data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"842\">Exploring future aspirations and challenges<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"849\" data-end=\"863\">Numeracy<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"1069\">In maths, pupils learned about different types of angles, including complementary\u00a0 and supplementary angles. They also practised multiplying large numbers, strengthening their confidence with more challenging calculations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1092\"><strong data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1090\">Learning focus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1224\">\n<li data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1129\">\n<p data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1129\">Identifying and measuring angles<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1168\">\n<p data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1168\">Understanding\u00a0 and calculating complementary and supplementary angles<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1169\" data-end=\"1224\">\n<p data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1224\">Applying strategies for large number multiplication<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1264\">Health and Wellbeing \/ P.E.<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1478\">The class took part in a variety of physical activities, including P.E. sessions and swimming. Pupils practised front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke, while also building water confidence and teamwork skills.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1501\"><strong data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1499\">Learning focus:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1612\">\n<li data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1536\">\n<p data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1536\">Developing swimming techniques<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1537\" data-end=\"1575\">\n<p data-start=\"1539\" data-end=\"1575\">Improving fitness and coordination<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1612\">\n<p data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1612\">Building resilience and teamwork<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1641\">Outdoor Learning<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1642\" data-end=\"1866\">Primary 6 enjoyed our 2nd visit to Pinkston, where they took part in kayaking and woodland activities.
