<\/p>\nAnother busy week in p5a!<\/p>\n
In maths we have begun exploring strategies to help us solve addition and subtraction problems. We have particularly liked the open numberline.
\nwe are continually consolidating our knowledge of place value as it helps us with all number work, so we enjoyed some active place value tasks this week too.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In writing we have been working on the recount genre, this week we watched a short clip called \u2018taking flight\u2019 and wrote some super recounts, retelling the events from the childs perspective.<\/p>\n
In reading we continue to work on employing our reading strategies and skills through our novel study.<\/p>\n
In our Paths lessons we have been exploring different emotions and how these present as well as looking at resulting behaviours and strategies we can use to support these.
\nWe also use an emotional checkin every morning, where the children all chose the most relevant emojis to have and decide each morning on how they are feeling, this can be changed throughout the day.

As part of our IDL context this week we were exploring the creatures that live in each layer of the ocean in a little more depth and have created super fact files about some of these animals.<\/p>\n
