It is hard to believe that we have already come to the end of Term 1. All of the children have worked so hard to transition to the expectations of Primary 3.

In Literacy this week, we created story maps as part of our final work on our class novel for this term, The Enormous Crocodile. We summarised the story and discussed key characters, and also predicted what could have happened after the end of the story. We also learnt the sound of ‘wr’ and practiced using new words. We revisited fiction vs non-fiction texts and practised our analysis skills of highlighting key information.

In Numeracy, we continued learning about money and explored different coins and notes we could use to make up money. We also began learning about telling the time and 24 hour clocks. We practiced extending number sequences.

We finished our IDL topic of Exotic Animals by making model habitats using recycled materials. All the children loved this, I will attach some pictures! I was incredibly impressed by how imaginative and resourceful the children were in representing their habitats.

I hope you all have an enjoyable October week!

Miss Thomson

Hello everyone, What a busy and exciting term it has been!
