What a fantastic first term we\u2019ve had in P1c! It\u2019s hard to believe that we\u2019re already at the October holidays. The children have worked so hard over the past few weeks and have so much to be proud of!<\/p>\n
In Literacy, we have been learning our new sounds c and k. We have also been using our knowledge of the sounds we\u2019ve learned so far to build, read and write CVC words (three-letter words made up of a consonant, vowel and consonant). The children have been working hard to blend sounds together and are becoming more confident in their early reading and writing skills.<\/p>\n
In Numeracy and Maths, we introduced the concept of time, exploring how we use time in our everyday lives and becoming familiar with clocks and daily routines. We also continued to develop our number knowledge through a variety of activities, helping us become more confident with recognising, counting and working with numbers.<\/p>\n
Our Playroom has been transformed into The Enchanted Forest! \u00a0The children have loved exploring our new topic, using their imaginations and engaging in lots of creative play inspired by magical forests, woodland creatures and fairy tales.<\/p>\n
In Music, we travelled all the way to Brazil (without leaving the classroom!) as we explored Brazilian music through the film Rio. We enjoyed listening to the lively rhythms and discovering some of the sounds and musical styles associated with Brazil.<\/p>\n
As we reach the end of our first term, I want to say a huge well done to all the children in P1c. They have settled into Primary 1 brilliantly and it has been lovely to see their confidence, independence and friendships grow over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n
