We have had another fantastic, busy week of learning in Primary 1c!<\/p>\n
This week in literacy, we have been learning two new initial sounds \u2013 r and m. We have been working hard to recognise our new sounds, say them clearly and identify words that begin with each sound.<\/p>\n
In numeracy, we have continued to develop our understanding of number sentences, exploring how numbers and symbols work together. We have also been learning about 2D shapes, focusing on counting the number of sides each shape has. We had lots of fun taking our learning outdoors too! With Mrs Cattley, we took part in an exciting numeracy scavenger hunt, completing lots of different maths activities as we explored outside.<\/p>\n
In music, we have been developing our understanding of beat and rhythm. We had great fun using maracas and samba shakers to practise keeping a steady beat together.<\/p>\n
We have also been getting creative in art! Inspired by The Snail and the Whale, we explored the technique of pointillism, carefully using dots of paint to create our own wonderful and colourful snails. We were very proud of our finished artwork!<\/p>\n
